Start with a Clean Vase
Wash the vase thoroughly before adding fresh water. Bacteria is one of the main reasons cut flowers deteriorate quickly.
Trim the Stems
Cut a small amount from the bottom of each stem at an angle before placing the flowers in water. Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Change the Water Regularly
Refresh the water every couple of days and keep the arrangement away from direct sunlight, radiators and bowls of ripening fruit.
